Skill 0 Relational Circuits Habit Builder Group

Starting Sept 11th and 12th, 2024.

We are delighted to have you practice with us!

Pre-Group Preparation (Skill theory)

To maximize your Habit Builder experience, it is essential to grasp the foundational theory of Skill 0 “The Relational Circuits” aka The Joy Switch.

To help with this, we recommend viewing our complimentary theory-focused webinar before the first week – at least up to the Q&A point. This will significantly enhance your understanding and promote easier participation during your practice exercises.

Course Content

Workbook

Your online course comes with a PDF workbook, conveniently located in the section titled “Course Workbook”. This contains the written instructions for all of the practice exercises. If you prefer your workbook content in smaller bites, your weekly email will have an attachment of just the parts we are covering that week. This means you have the option of following along in your full workbook, or just using the smaller section that was sent for that week.

If you like, before each meeting you can review the workbook pages for that week to familiarize yourself with the practice exercise(s) coming up.

Videos

We will view the course videos as a group, so it is not necessary to view them on your own.

Practice

Throughout our one-hour session we will engage in individual practice and participate in small group discussions. Your active participation during this time will provide significant opportunities to strengthen your skill practice.

Certificates

If you would like a course certificate after completing the course, you must open your course in Thinkific and manually mark each section as complete. When you have reached 100% it will auto generate a certificate for you available in your account to download and print.

Access

You have access to your course in Thinkific for 1 year from the date of purchase. This gives you the opportunity to return and re-watch any videos or go through the course again at your own pace before the expiration date.

Zoom

The ZOOM link for our meetings will remain the same every week and will be in your weekly emails. You can also find it in your group section below. In some cases, you may be asked for a meeting ID and passcode to join via the ZOOM link.

If you are a first-time or new ZOOM user, you will need a free ZOOM account to join the meeting. You can download the ZOOM app to your computer from zoom.us or install the ZOOM app on your phone or tablet. The free version of the app is all that’s required.

Please note that there won’t be time during the meeting to troubleshoot ZOOM issues. If you are new to ZOOM technology and require assistance, please reach out to your group facilitator before the first meeting.

Meeting Guidelines & Etiquette

There are meeting practices that will contribute toward everyone’s experience being enjoyable. We realize that not everyone is familiar with the ZOOM platform and meeting settings so if you have questions about these guidelines, we’re happy to help you figure out how to best flow with them.

Our Habit Builder Groups follow specific meeting practices to enhance everyone’s experience. Not all participants are experienced users of the ZOOM platform and its settings, so we invite you to reach out with any questions about these guidelines. We’re here to help everyone navigate them smoothly.

ZOOM Mute Settings

To keep background noise out of the meeting, kindly mute yourself on ZOOM upon joining and when not speaking.

ZOOM Chat Feature

When you join the meeting, please help us take attendance by checking in through the chat feature. A simple “Hi” will do. If you need assistance during the meeting while a video is playing or everything is quiet, use the chat to ask your question. We will respond as quickly as possible.

Breakout Rooms

The final step of all practice exercises is “Share with a friend.” Our ‘friends’ are those in our breakout room with whom we review the exercise. Sharing is a key step in forming relational habits, so our meetings give plenty of time for community interaction in breakout rooms.

Your facilitator will put the participants in online breakout rooms within ZOOM – you do not have to click anything yourself.

Those Participating as a Group

Following the renaming instructions below each week will help your facilitator quickly assign everyone to the correct breakout room at those times.

  • If others have gathered in person with you, they are your breakout room.
    • In this scenario please rename that ZOOM person with a ‘1 – ‘ before the name. For example: “1 – Sarah”. This will help the facilitator easily assign you to a breakout room.
  • If you do not have others in person going through the course with you, you DO NOT need to put a number in front of your name (applies to most).

How to rename yourself in ZOOM: Hover over the toolbar at the bottom of your page, click “Participants,” then select “Rename”. You can also click “More” and then choose “Rename”.
