What to expect
Sessions 1 and 2 will include a time of teaching, followed by a time for discussion in breakout rooms. In Session 3, Chris will lead you through an exercise which you will then discuss in breakout rooms. We will conclude session 3 with an extended time for Q & A.
We will add you to a breakout room with other attendees. If you are attending with other colleagues, email us at events@thrivetoday.org and we can coordinate any special breakout room requests. Note that each attendee needs to register separately.
Session 1
The Counselor’s Dilemma | In this session you will explore the mystery behind why healing from the past often isn’t enough for your clients to thrive in life. Discover skills that your clients might be missing and learn ways to identify the skills someone needs during your sessions.
Session 2
Capacity for the Client and the Counselor | In this session Chris Coursey will discuss the concept of capacity, and how a counselor’s capacity and a client’s capacity can both affect the ability of a client to thrive. You will also explore how the process of healing can expand the capacity of you and your clients versus drain it.
Session 3
Putting it into Practice | In this session you will take what you have learned and apply it through an exercise Chris will lead you through. Following this exercise there will be an extended time for Q & A.
