How well do you navigate conflict? You’ve likely heard that effective communication is the most essential tool for resolving disagreements, but that’s not the whole story. Without key relational skills, even the best communication tools can do more harm than good.
In this new THRIVEtoday online event, Chris Coursey will offer a fresh perspective on conflict and help you:
Discover how to approach conflict with confidence and turn relational tension into opportunities for growth. We hope you can join us!
Each session will include a time of teaching and practice:
Session 1
Goals for Navigating Conflict | In this session Chris will explore relational goals for navigating conflict and discuss why good communication skills alone often don’t produce the results we really want. You will also learn about two key components that are necessary to walk through conflict well.
Emotional Capacity and Conflict | This session focuses on the role that emotional capacity plays in conflict. Chris will review the foundational 5 skills and how each can help us in disagreements, and you will also learn how capacity within a relationship is an important factor to consider. Lastly, Chris will walk you through an exercise to help you get your relational footing during times of relational friction.
Emotional Regulation and Conflict |
In session 3 you will learn the role that the “Return to Joy” skill plays in walking through tension in your relationships. Chris will review the 6 big emotions and help you explore your own ability to navigate these emotions in yourself and in others.
We will end with final thoughts and a brief time for Q &A.

We encourage you to attend LIVE, but if you can’t make it, the recording will be available for those who registered in the form on an online course. While you will have plenty of time to review the recording, we cannot guarantee long-term access.
Keep in mind that the hands-on practice and breakout rooms are an important part of this event. If you are watching the event via recording, you’ll benefit greatly by having a friend purchase the course as well so you can go through the exercises together and discuss what you are learning. Please remember to have anyone you go through the content with also purchase the event, unless they are in your household and you paid the household rate.
